This one has been on my todo list ever since: the #horseheadnebula in the constellation Orion. It is pretty amazing what can be achieved with only 3 hours of integration time.
A near full moon, done a bit differently.
I shot this with my #Dwarf3 as 60 frames at 1/320, 1/640, and 1/1250, and then ran it through an HDR merger.
Then I boosted the saturation to heck and back.
The result is ... Not quite a 'mineral moon's, but it is interesting nevertheless.
I think my pinched optics problem is solved. Here are quick before & after NINA livestacks. Check out the spikes on the bright stars in the first shot - they shouldn't be there. #astronomy #astrophotography
@hendric I'm planning to do a post about it at astronomynightly-dot-com once I do some more testing & shoot a real image with the scope. It's a new Explore Scientific ED127. The shipping screws on the lens cell appear to have been pinching the lenses. I backed them out a turn & stars look much better now.
