Liebes #Fediverse, ich hab' mal wieder eine Frage: Weiß jemand, ob und wie man einstellen kann, dass ein Masto-Account automatisch alle Posts eines anderen Profils teilt? Sowas kann Friendica, aber ich könnte es für @fossheute gebrauchen. Das läuft auf Mastodon.
Bei solchen Beiträgen bekomm ich wieder richtig Lust meinen Beitrag einfach nicht mehr zu bezahlen. Der Staat schuldet den Bürgern & ihr von den Öffentlich Rechtlichen lasst es euch in meinen Augen auch zu gut gehen. Für das was ihr bietet ist der Beitrag zu hoch & die Qualität zu niedrig 😑

Friendica users must stop posting over 500 characters at once. This goes against the Fediquette. They must cut their long stuff into pieces of no more than 500 characters or post it somewhere that isn't federated with Mastodon and then link to it.

Everyone on Friendica must add content warnings to everything they post if there's something disturbing in it. It's up to us to decide what's disturbing. And they must stop using so many useless hashtags.

This is Mastodon's Fediverse, and it has always been. Everything else is either an add-on to Mastodon or an intruder. What do they even mean, Friendica is six years older than Mastodon? That's nonsense, that isn't even possible!

Why are people on Friendica so angry and hostile towards Mastodon? We're the good guys!
1) there seems to be no working cli Client. The one I found can read posts and claims to be able to send posts, But they Do not appear online. Seems to be an abandoned project.
2) there seems to be no App for Android or iOS.
3) the Email notifications that friendica sends only ever say: something happened at this post of yours, Look online what it is.
4) the Web interface of friendica confuses me. Friendica has Features, that are missing in from Mastodon, But the UI/UX is as confusing as instagram and I never know what is going on.
@C.Suthorn :prn: @Jupiter Rowland I cannot confirm about the email notification. Friendica is fully ActivityPub complying. So you can use ANY client that supports AP correctly. Why does it confuse you? I use Friendica for several years now.
Heute fliegt die #ISS um 22:12 Uhr MESZ über Deutschland. Sie zieht dabei innerhalb weniger Minuten als heller Punkt von West nach Ost über den Himmel.
Normalerweise setze ich Hashtags ans Ende meiner Beiträge. Heute habe ich in einem Kommentar mal ausnahmsweise ein Wort mitten im Text als Hashtag deklariert. Auf dem Server des Ausgangsbeitrags wurde mein Kommentar daraufhin nach dem Hashtag-Wort abgeschnitten. Der Rest des Textes, der auf meinem Server durchaus vorliegt, fehlt auf dem anderen Server.
Derlei ist mir zuvor noch nie begegnet, aber vielleicht auch einfach nur nicht aufgefallen, weil ich ja in der Regel nicht kontrolliere, ob meine Beiträge vollständig verteilt werden.
Spielen da Friendica und Mastodon neuerdings nicht korrekt zusammen, ist das eine Einstellung in der Mastodon-Serversoftware oder wie oder oder?
Last month I finally bought the #LEGO #Technic8880 Super Car set (1994). It came out right in the middle of my teenage LEGO years, and was heavily promoted in all the other Technic sets released at the same time.
And for the time, it was a marvel of engineering: 4 wheel drive with 3 open differentials, independent suspension, 4 wheel steering, a V8 engine with moving pistons, and a brand-new 4 speed gearbox. A life-size version was even built for the Paris Motor Show around the same time, and I got the privilege to see it in person.
Alas, the set didn’t fit in either my birthday or Christmas budget at the time, and it stayed a dream figment for the best part of 30 years. Until last month when I finally got my hands on a second-hand copy of the set.
I was of course afraid that reality would trample that dream to dust especially after I was gifted a 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 set by my partner which is in the same vein, but I’m pleased to report some of the original magic is still here.
The building experience is typical of 1990s Technic, with much more parts per building step than entirely comfortable, and several building techniques taking advantage of parts’ flexibility that have since been outlawed by LEGO. But the main advantage the Super Car still holds over newer large scale Technic vehicles is how didactic it is. Its weirdly high stance and airy design with no body panels makes every single feature visually accessible, including during operation.
This was immediately evidenced by my 10 year old kid asking me about the simple but functional gearbox. I was able to show her how it worked by comparing wheel speed with engine speed and point at various exposed gears. Sure, the Lamborghini’s modern gearbox is impressive, but I’d be damned if I could explain how it works to anyone, let alone show most of it given its tight package with body panels hiding the gears including on the bottom.
This makes for me the 8880 Super Car a timeless classic less by its outdated looks than by the sheer “how it works” enjoyment it still provides to this day while modern Technic sets can fall short in that aspect despite more complex features.
@Pepijn Thanks, I might just build the B model, the number of parts is reasonable compared to the size of the model. On the other hand I never want to have to part out the 3700-part Lamborghini set for any reason. 😵
@Johan The 8860 set definitely is in that didactic vein I talked about. For me the 8880 set is a sweet spot between an educational model and aesthetics, despite the oddly high stance for a high-performance car.

They position themselves as «a world map made in Europe». And for me personally, it sounds weird and even sad. Why? Because, in my opinion, humanity shoud be getting together and work on great stuff. Not deviding by the territory of origin.

#ISS heute 23:02 Uhr MESZ über Deutschland. Taucht als heller Punkt im Westen auf, wobei die Flugbahn aber nur noch bis Südosten reicht, je nach Standort recht knapp überm südlichen Horizont. Ende der Woche ist mit den sichtbaren Überflügen erstmal Schluss bzw. Pause.
Und ich hab wieder kräftig gewunken. 😁 Finde es ziemlich toll, daß so etwas "menschengemachtes" am Sternenhimmel zu sehen ist.
Ok, bei einigen anderen hält sich dann meine Begeisterung doch eher in Grenzen. Als am Anfang die Satelliten wie Perlenketten über den Himmel flog, war es noch kurios und irgendwie cool. Inzwischen habe ich mitbekommen, was das für Astronom*innen bedeutet, und alles im Sinne der Gewinnmaximierung. Inzwischen eher:😤🤯
@Lioh Die reine IP-Adresse bzw. Hostname ist eigentlich falsch, da dort URLs hinzkommen. Es muesste dann also http://127.0.0.1 korrekterweise heissen. Dann kannst du auch gleich mal den Traffic analysieren, der sonst an Mozilla geschickt wird.
Hallo liebe Bubble hier in der #Fediverse. Aus Gründen suche ich für mich einen neuen Laptop. Und dieses Mal tatsächlich einen für Dualboot mit Windows/Linux, da ich ungefähr alle zwei Monate für genau eine Windowsapplikation dieses Microsoft Dingens benötige. Ja, ja ich weiß und nein, es gibt leider keine Alternative unter Linux und mit Wine habe ich es auch schon erfolglos getestet. 😬
Also gesucht wird ein Laptop, der folgende Ansprüche erfüllt:
Linux: - Laufzeit auf mehrere Jahre ausgelegt, da ich meine Laptops so lange wie möglich nutze - Genutzte Software: Browser, Mail und LibreOffice - Benutzung einer USB-C Dockingstation von Lenovo für den Betrieb von zwei Monitoren - Display 14 Zoll (oder größer, je nach Preis) - Lange Akkulaufzeit - Kein "Geficke" beim Installieren von div. Linux Distributionen
Windows: - Billigste Windows-Lizenz, die möglich ist.
Keine Ahnung, worauf man heute bei einem Kauf eines Laptops für Privat achten sollte? Es muss keine Kiste mit dem neuesten Scheiß sein, sollte aber auch keine billigste Hardware sein, die nach drei Jahren nicht mehr zu nutzen ist.
Deswegen brauche ich die Unterstützung der Weltbesten #Fedinauten ever. Welche Laptops (Hersteller/Modell) sind zu empfehlen? Welche Onlineshops sind empfehlenswert?
Ich habe schon des öfteren mit refurbished Lenovo ThinkPads gute Erfahrungen gemacht: Einfach mal in der Bucht oder auf den einschlägigen Seiten suchen. Kann natürlich auch nach hinten losgehen, aber ich hatte hier jedes Mal Glück: Die Geräte waren immer fast wie neu. Momentan nutze ich hier ein T480S: Windows/Linux Dual Boot kein Problem. Zudem gut und preiswert erweiterbar (RAM/M2 SSD). Dock (Lenovo Thunderbold 4 Dock) auch kein Problem mit 2 ext. Monitoren.
@DecaTec Ich hatte so dreieinhalb bis vier Jahre alt ein W540 und X230 besorgt. Immer noch zuverlässig im Einsatz, obwohl ca. 12 Jahre nun alt. Zum empfehlen ist thinkwiki.de/Hauptseite . Da gibt es auch Infos zu bekannten und häufigen Problemen, die bekanntermaßen erst später bekannt sind. Gut zu wissen beim Gebraucht-kauf.
Ergänzung: Wenn du Vollverschlüsselung (Win Bitlocker + Linux LUKS) willst, dann wird es etwas hässlich: LUKS klappt beim Linux-Setup nur mit einer leeren HDD. Man kann es auch nach dem Setup nachrüsten, das ist aber meiner Meinung nach sehr frickelig. Wenn also Verschlüsselung wichtig ist, dann wirst du ein NB mit zwei HDDs benötigen. Und hier habe ich noch nichts passendes finden können.
@DecaTec Das ist ein sehr guter Hinweis. Danke. Wie lassen sich denn diverse Linux Distris auf den Thinpads installieren? Gibt es da keine Probleme wegen irgendwelche BIOS Dingens oder so?
Hier ebenfalls: Thinkpads sind super und refurbished oft richtig gut.
Und wenn ich einen konkreten Laden empfehlen sollte: afb group/Shop die sind gemeinnützig und die Leute hier im Laden vor Ort sind super. Für „Stammkunde“ reicht es noch nicht aber ich war immer zufrieden…
@Tuxi :Friendica: 🐧 ✅ Bei beiden halte ich das fuer einen Glaubenskrieg, also egal. Aber: Wenn du mehr FLOSS gehen willst, also Linux usw. ist wohl der ATI/AMD-Kernel freier und besser implementiert als Noveou (oder aehnlich).
Im Grunde dass, was hier ganz viele sagen: Gebrauchter Businesslaptop, am besten mit nem i7/Ryzen 7. Mit Lenovo und Dell gibt es eigentlich so gut wie keine Hardwaretreiber Probleme mehr unter Linux. Das geht offiziell gefurbisht, günstiger kommst du bei EBay weg, auch wenn du da natürlich auch Pech haben kannst. @askfedi_de
Wenn ich mich mit Sonnencreme einschmiere, dauert es ca. 1-3 Minuten, bis ich an den eingecremten Stellen anfange zu schwitzen wie ein Irrer. Es macht ein bißchen den Eindruck, als wehrte sich mein Körper gegen das Zeug (kein Ausschlag, Jucken oder so).
Kennt das noch jemand? Warum ist das so? Was tut man dagegen? Bin für jegliche Tips dankbar

Ist ja schön und gut, wenn es für das #CrowdStrike Problem einen Workaround gibt. Schön, dass man nur eine Datei löschen muss. Scheiße ist ja nur, wenn man für den Boot in den abgesicherten Modus einen Bitlocker Schlüssel braucht (bzw. zum Löschen dieser Datei) dieser Schlüssel aber nicht existiert. Hallo zusammen, ich habe in den letzten Jahren als Geburtstagsgeschenk für Freund*innen & Verwandte einige individuelle Musikcompilations erstellt (CDs + Playlist / Download). Und zwar mit dem Konzept, dass die Compilation ab dem Geburtsjahr bis zum aktuellen Jahr einen Song pro Jahr enthält.
Hier haben auch im Fediverse schon einige bereits mit Musiktipps geholfen... u.a. hier
Das älteste "Geburtstagskind" bislang war Geburtsjahr 1956. Da ich mich in der Zeit musikalisch am besten auskenne, sind in meiner Vorauswahl die 90er Jahre stark überrepräsentiert, während die Liste in den 50er/60er, aber auch in den 2010er Jahren nur wenig Auswahl / Vielfalt enthält. Auch in den 70er/ 80er und ab 2005 sind weitere Ergänzungen sehr willkommen.
Der nächste Post enthält meine bisherige Liste (Vorauswahl) bzw. einen Ausschnitt daraus. Ich wäre sehr dankbar für einschlägige Musiktipps und bin gespannt auf Eure Ergänzungen!
