Some of our browser competitors are all in on Crypto. We are not.

It’s a topic that is practically inescapable these days, whether online or off. But when it comes to cryptocurrency, all that virtually glimmers is not gold.Jon von Tetzchner (Vivaldi Technologies)
After my having 3 Sinclair computers, I moved on to Atari ST, for a week... before I switched it for an Amiga. At the time, Atari and Amiga were the big names in home computing, while those with more funds might have gone with a Mac or a PC.
What did you use?

Sinclair Spectrum or Commodore 64?
My first computer was a Sinclair ZX81. I had it about a year before I switched to a Sinclair Spectrum and a couple of years later I moved on to Sinclair QL.
Some friends of mine had a Commodore 64. They were more expensive, better hardware, but less accessible when it came to programming, IMHO, at least using Basic. So my friends did more gaming and I did more programming.
Did you have any of these? Which camp were you in?
@cloudhands , that is how I started as well. There was a UK magazine, available in Iceland, that was called Sinclair programs. I would type in programs from that magazine into my ZX81 or Spectrum. Then I would spend time finding typos and bugs... You better be accurate! Learned a lot from that.
One issue with the ZX81 was the RAM pack. After typing for hours, I might push the machine slightly and it would reset... The joy... You might ask why one would not save all the time, but saving on diskette just takes a while.

It is not realistic for us to do that. There would be security issues in Chromium and for us to make sure we get fixes to those security issues would become harder and harder.
At Opera we had 100 maintaining Presto. That is more than twice the size of our team. We would need more than that now.

Thanks for donating. That is much appreciated. The more donations we get, the more users we get, the more we are able to do.

When we evaluated what our options were, we looked at Chromium and Gecko for the most part. We know that starting from scratch would not be feasible for us, having done that before and knowing what it entails.
We found Chromium to be the safer bet.

The login is only required if you want to give a monthly donation. This is to be able to manage the donation.

Every donation helps. We particularly appreciate monthly donations, but they all help.
