The things we could achieve if only we weren’t hostage to a handful of psychopaths smelting our future into yet more treasure for them to hoard.
The early days of the pandemic showed us that if the government wanted - they could do more to take care of us. They could provide a universal basic income. They could accommodate the needs of disabled people who had been pleading for remote healthcare and other services for years. They could keep people fed, safe and housed.
They didn’t WANT to. The moment they thought they could tell you to get back to work - they did.
In order to facilitate it - they stripped back data and access to tools for Covid while telling you it was over and/or mild.
How many people are sick this holiday season? Either with an acute infection or with debilitating chronic illness that followed their Covid infection?
Why can’t we access tests, free respirators and accurate data about cases and hospitalizations/deaths? Why don’t we have clean air in public spaces?
Because they don’t care about us. They know people will die and become disabled - but they’re rolling the dice that it’ll be mostly those “others” that they don’t want around anyways. They’re banking on it not being so many people to impact THEIR way of life - which is all they care about.
People should be radicalized by this. We can do so much better. Inclusiveness is possible. Caring for one another is within our reach. We can hold our leaders to a higher standard.
Until then - the best thing you can do for those around you is wear a mask.

Ich denke, morgen werde ich mir mal einen nicht-weihnachtlichen Film gönnen. Ich möchte den 3D-Effekt des Beamers nun doch auch mal ausführlich testen 😃
Ich weiß noch nicht genau welchen, hab mal zwei rausgesucht. „Life of Pi“ kenn ich noch nicht, „Gravity“ hab ich damals im Kino gesehen, aber ich meine nicht in 3D. Den nicht-gewählten Film guck ich dann vielleicht nächste Tage 🙂
Edit: Denkfehler 🙈 Mein Blu-Ray-Player kann ja kein 3D. Da muss ich erst warten, bis der neue geliefert wird. Naja, First-World-Problem 🤷♂️

Been to OHM like 10 years back, nice size, but cops and corporations.
At a latter dutch camp I was too poor and wanted to get a ticket through volunteer work but was told, they'd only decide if I'd get a ticket *after* my contributions – so essentially "work for free and you might not even get to visit the event" and that kinda culture is a *hard pass* for me.
How tiny we talking in Iceland (also what temperatures)? 2 dozen people events a la Camp++ are too small IMO.
