I thought it was an EVENT when I was a kid... something bad that happened to you, like being chased by the nasty King's soldiers.
Then I learned many view it as an ENTITY, like Satan incarnate. Body and all. And a lot see it as a SPIRITUAL power of some sort.
It seems more an ATTITUDE to me, mostly a total disregard or concern for others, for life, for nature. It has no appreciation of the wonders we live within and is simply a destroyer. Of anything, anywhere, anytime.

There's so much more to it, but I didn't have the room to list it all. This is a terrible information security breach, and the fact it took this long to be caught means a serious threat exists to the whole fleet from actual enemies who know what they're doing.
